With the World Cup 2022 fast approaching and in a bid to facilitate its National Vision Strategy 2030, the Qatar Government has undertaken a number of initiatives across sectors that involve implementation of technology along with seamless execution of major infrastructure projects. Industry reports indicate that the government is expected to spend $40bn on railways, $15.5bn on the new airport, $20bn investment in roads, $7.4bn on the new port and $4bn on stadiums.

Against this backdrop, the 2017 Arab Future Cities Summit’s aim is to highlight the building blocks required towards achieving a sustainable and connected city. The event is supported by KAHRAMAA the Qatari General Electricity and Water Corporation and will be held on 10th and 11th April 2017 at The Ritz Carlton, Doha
