With the World Cup 2022 fast approaching and in a bid to facilitate its National Vision Strategy 2030, the Qatar Government has undertaken a number of initiatives across sectors that involve implementation of technology along with seamless execution of major infrastructure projects. Industry reports indicate that the government is expected to spend $40bn on railways, $15.5bn on the new airport, $20bn investment in roads, $7.4bn on the new port and $4bn on stadiums.
Against this backdrop, the 2017 Arab Future Cities Summit’s aim is to highlight the building blocks required towards achieving a sustainable and connected city.
