Highlights of the Network activities in WETEX / Dubai Solar Show October 23-25 2018, Dubai, UAE

The Dubai Solar Show, part of WETEX allowed the Network for three full days of successful networking, knowledge exchange, training and interesting discussions.

The Network as a knowledge Partner at the Dubai Solar Show Seminar Week, supported 3 full days of seminars delivered within the framework of the Dubai Solar Show Seminar Week. The Seminar Week gathered world class international speakers, industry leaders and entrepreneurs such as ACWA, ENGIE, Abengoa, DEWA, DSCE, GE, EDF Renewables, ESTELA, Bee'ah, Six Construct/Besix, Enerwhere, EY, Strategy&, Enova, Signify, Fichtner, PwC, Masdar, Department of Energy Abu Dhabi, Taqnia KSA, CENER, Parsons, Schneider Electric, IRENA, Yellow Door Energy, Kawar Energy, Wilson & Sterling, ST Engineering, Innogy, Siemens, Air Liquide, HyET, Next Kraftwerke, Taka Solutions, EU-GCC Clean Energy Technology Network, Emirates Green Building Council, and many more.

H.E. Patrizio Fondi, EU Ambassador in the UAE opened the Sustainability Seminar Week of the Dubai Solar Show with an inspiring address. In the recent years, the EU has implemented ambitious policies aiming at a more sustainable use of energy and at tackling the climate change challenge. The Clean Energy for All European package is the most ambitious and comprehensive initiative ever presented aiming to deliver secure, sustainable and competitive energy in the 2030 perspective and to meet the Paris Agreement“ noted the Ambassador during his opening address.

"Taking into account the changing energy landscape and the accelerating clean energy transition, the EU have extended cooperation with the GCC and MENA countries, to topics related to clean energy technologies and policies. I believe the EU-GCC Clean Energy Network is a useful mechanism to promote cooperation with our GCC partners in clean energy” the Ambassador noted. 

The Network experts had a strong presence and contributed significantly in organising the event and delivering specific topics within the Seminar week.
