The King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Centre (KAPSARC) is organising the second roundtable workshop “Overcoming Challenges to Developing a Well-functioning Electricity in GCC and MENA” relating to the challenges of developing an electricity trading market in the GCC and MENA region. It takes place on Tuesday, 22 October 2019, at their campus in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The workshop’s focus is to explore various enablers which promote electricity market trading including; policy, legal, regulatory, institutional and market design which need to be addressed if an integrated electricity market is to be developed in the future. The EU GCC Clean Energy Technology Network is participating in this workshop and is represented by Nick Carter, the Network’s Electricity Interconnections and Market Integration Convener, who will support the closing session relating to market integration in the GCC and MENA regions.
